Manoj Hariharan & Santhosh.S, third year students of Rajalakshmi Engineering college doing Btech-Biotechnology  were invited by the National Research council of Canada to present a research paper in “The IXth world conference  on clinical Pharmacology& Therapeutics” which took place at Quebec, Canada. They were one of the very few people who represented the country for presenting their research  paper  in this conference. It was one of the most important and biggest events happening this year.It was a 5day conference which took place from 27.7.08 to 1.8.08  and they were able to interact with various scientists from the different parts of the world during the conference.They  presented a research paper on “clinical pharmacology” primarily focused upon the treatment of Cancer in the second day of the conference in front of thousands of scientists.After their presentation ,they were specially invited to the Parliament house in Quebec, Canada by the President of the ‘American society of Clinical Pharmacology’ for the centennial celebrations of the ‘AMERICAN SOCIETY OF PHARMACOLOGICAL AND EXPERIMENTAL THERAPEUTICS’(ASPET).The president of the “World Health Organization” presided over the function as the chief Guest.It was really a great privilege getting a honorable award at this young age and most importantly at the parliament of Canada. Only 50 out of 2500 were invited for the meeting and they were one among those 50.At the end of the program, the President of “ASPET” honored them with a centennial Compendium.They were presented membership badges of ASPET and given special access to all the leading journals in the field of Pharmacology.Support towards their trip to Canada was extended by Dr.Mrs.Thangam Meghanathan,Chairperson ,Rajalakshmi Engineering college.Their research work was very effectively guided  by Dr.H.Devaraj ,Director , University of Madras.They received guidance from their Department Dean Dr.N.Parthadarathy,  H.O.D Dr.Johanna Rajkumar for making this presentation a grand success. This participation and the visit was of great help to the Young Scientists to gain the knowledge in the field of Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics and to further broaden their research outlook.
